THE RISE OF RITA ORA
Rita Ora has been bringing us high energy pop beats for nearly a decade now, and has never failed to bring a fresh feel to tunes we inevitably have on repeat. She's smashed out four number ones, and shares the record for most top 10 singles by a British female artist. All this from the girl who started her career singing in her dad's pub!
Today, it was announced that Rita Ora will be a very special international guest performer at this year's ARIA Awards - and we are thrilled she's coming back to Oz for this prestigious occasion!
Finally her long-awaited second studio album Phoenix is about to drop, and in honour of the occasion, we're taking a flick back through the years to see the rise of Rita Ora.
Way back in 2009 Rita auditioned to represent the UK at Eurovision, and was offered the job!
She turned down the opportunity to pursue her career as a solo artist.
In 2012 the world saw just why she needed to do her own thing, and her debut album Ora made her a household name with hits like "R.I.P" and "How We Do".
By 2015 Rita had solidified her status as a fashion icon, with a glamorous old Hollywood vibe drawing inspiration from the likes of Marilyn Monroe, sizzling at the 2015 Oscars in Marchesa...
In 2017 Rita teamed up with the late and much beloved Avicii to release "Lonely Together"
This feel-good dance bop made it to number 4 on the charts, and was the soundtrack to everyone's Summer.
2017 was a massive year for Rita, as she really came into her star status and made a place for herself amongst the icons of pop.
Teaming up with One Direction's Liam Payne for the hit song "For You" - the track that accompanied the box office smash 50 Shades Freed.
She released "Your Song", penned by none other than songwriter extraordinaire Ed Sheeran himself, and it rocketed to receive 70 million streams and become her most played track.
With a hook that you seriously can't get out of your head, it's a loved-up pop ballad for our generation and was the first single from the soon to be released Phoenix!
Speaking of Phoenix, Rita just dropped her latest hit "Let You Love Me" and it's truly a testament to the woman and rockstar she's grown to be!
With a tune this good already on repeat, we can't wait to see what the rest of Phoenix has in store when it is released on November 23rd. Pre-order your copy now, here!
