CMC Rocks is taking over Queensland this weekend and it is the country music festival to end all festivals. It's almost overwhelming just how much incredible talent is heading down under to rock out all weekend long, so we've simplified things for you with 5 acts you definitely cannot afford to miss.

Ashley McBryde

She's the voice behind Barack Obama's favourite song and received a nomination for Best Country Album at the 61st Grammy Awards, Ashley McBryde is the wholesome country queen you need to get behind ASAP. Bringing traditional country music to the forefront of CMC Rocks, we're super into her raw stripped back sound, complete with gritty vocals and more country twang than we know what to do with. When she's not banging out Grammy-nominated hits, Ashley is quietly filming for her silver screen debut alongside some seriously big names - you can catch her in "Wild Rose" due to be released May 19.

Brandy Clark

It's Brandy's first time down under and boy are we lucky to have her, she's country music royalty having written songs for some of the biggest names in the biz, not to mention receiving a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 2015. We have her track "Girl Next Door" on repeat - it's the kind of energy we need in our lives and we cannot wait to see her perform it live. Word on the street is new music is expected later this year, get yourself to her set to tide you over in the meantime.

Devin Dawson

We fell in love with Devin Dawson way back in 2014 when his Taylor Swift mashup went viral. Well he's come a long way since then, releasing his breakout Platinum-certified hit "All On Me" and being honoured with multiple award nominations including ACM's "New Mail Artist" and CMT Music's "Breakthrough Video of the Year" - just to name a few. His latest video "Dark Horse" is a big moody vibe that we're seriously into, a proper bit of country heartbreak with a chorus we are super keen to sing along to live. In breaking news - just this week Devin got engaged to fellow musician Leah Sykes! Nothing like a little bit of romance to get us even more psyched for this set.

Frankie Ballard

Frankie grabbed our attention when Rolling Stone selected his album as one of the 25 Best Country & Americana albums of 2016. He's had three number one country hits to date and his tunes boast an excess of 180 million Spotify streams. "It All Started With A Beer" is the kind of wholesome country twang we're heading to CMC Rocks for! We look forward to throwing down some beers while singing along to Ballard all night long.

Michael Ray

We've had Michael Ray's major bop "One That Got Away" on repeat since it dropped, it's a feel good upbeat banger that will have even the most reluctant of country fans singing along - definitely a tune we need to dance along to live. It's his latest single of the album 'Amos' which is jam packed full of tunes you do not want to miss. In super cute news, his fiance and fellow country music start Carly Pearce is also playing at CMC Rocks.
